Images are often large files, and can be difficult to send via email. We want to make sure that you receive high quality images in the easiest possible way! For this reason, we compress the images into a .zip file format. This allows us to send high quality, large image files that will download very quickly.

Since the files are compressed when you initially download them to your computer, they must be uncompressed or “unzipped”. The process for unzipping files is explained below in a few simple steps.

If you are operating on a Mac:

Step 1: Once you have downloaded your photos, your media will download to your computer into a .zip file format.

Step 2: Once the download has completed, locate the .zip file. Typically, it can be found in your Downloads folder unless you have changed the default location.

Mac: /Users/<username>/Downloads

Step 3: Double-click on the .zip file to extract photos.

The files will automatically decompress or “unzip” into a folder with the same name as the compressed or “zipped” files.

If you are operating on a PC:

Step 1: Once you have downloaded your photos, your media will download to your computer into a .zip file format.

Step 2: Once the download has completed, simply locate the .zip file. Typically, it can be found in your Downloads folder unless you have changed the default location.

Windows 10, 8, 7 and Vista: \Users\<username>\Downloads

Step 3: Right-click on the .zip file and select the Extract All/Extract File(s) option in the drop-down menu.

Select “Browse” to select a destination. This destination is where you will be able to locate the uncompressed or “unzipped” files. We recommend also selecting “Show extracted files when complete”.

Step 4: Click Extract
